Put some Emotion into it!

Emotional Design

This Tuesdays seminar explored the region of emotional design. They discussed that emotions have a crucial role in the human ability to understand the world, and how they learn new things. For example: aesthetically pleasing objects appear to the user to be more effective, by virtue of their sensual appeal. This is due to the affinity the user feels for an object that appeals to him, due to the formation of an emotional connection to the object. I believe this to be true after completing a survey the group asked us to complete. They would show a plain object, a mug for example, put a face or something interesting incorporated into the design and instantly I was drawn to the animated object. Below is an example of emotional design through a process of Eye bombing!
