Foundations of Interactive Media Design
At the beginning of this module we concentrated on this history of computing and the area of Human Computer Interaction. We also focused on perceptual and cognitive issues within the HCI field. Following that we focused on different kinds of media to support interactivity and how to incorporate them into conceptual design. We looked at methodologies for the specification, design and evaluation of interactive systems which included the user centered design process, participatory design, critical design etc.
Towards the end of the semester we were to put these skills to practical use. In groups of 3 we chose one interactive artifact to evaluate and re-design.Our group chose a Philips LCD Remote. After we developed our prototype in Flash we tested our design on 6 users using the cooperative evaluation method. The report documenting the process can be read below.Scridb filter
